Changing Clothes Is a Free Action: Invoked by Rarity who keeps rapidly changing outfits; at one point she shows she has a stash of dresses ready to pull from to change in and out of in moments in case of a dress emergency. Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie and Fluttershy were not seen again for the rest of the episode after "new" Rarity leaves the boutique; in fact, they weren't seen at the festival later on. Sadly, there's always the groups of people who say the show should've ended at season four and that everything after is inferior (it is true for some shows, even if they do eventually improve at some point down the road; good luck sitting through season ten of The Fairly OddParents). A Royal Problem is the first in what I can consider the "we're doing what we can to make MLP great again" trilogy, and I include The Perfect Pear and Shadow Play in it.

The episode is a Halloween special, and all of the background ponies were given individual costumes. In her dream, Rainbow takes a picture of a fellow flier while upside down. Seems to me like that's the kind of thing that everybody's doing just because everybody else is doing it. Drama Queen: Rarity talks herself into freaking out when Trenderhoof is late. But then again, horses are not supposed to have chocolate either. Favors for the Sexy: Rarity has occasionally done this before, usually to get favors from Spike, but here she takes it to Femme Fatale levels. Paco: Oh no, looks like hard times ahead for Paco. The similarities come from her pure white hair colour combined with the peculiarities of the show's art style, which combine to give Rarity the look of a marshmallow.

Unlimited Wardrobe: Rarity changes outfits constantly during the course of the investigation, which Dash lampshades at one point. Not because I care about her, but, y'know...
So what makes A Royal Problem my favorite episode of season seven? The letters usually end with "Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle", where the answers usually start with "To my faithful student Twilight". However, he frames Rainbow Dash for a crime she didn't commit, out of spite so she doesn't break his Wonderbolt record. Imitating Rainbow Dash] Fuckin' biiitch!
Shout-Out: - Rarity's silk dress is based on the dress of Athena in Saint Seiya. In the end, no-one ends up with anyone. Rainbow Dash: You've ravaged this city, crushed our homes, and destroyed countless lives. It doesn't bug me that much. She has a brand new line of clothes to show off, after all.
