I load a lot of 38/357, depends on what you are looking for. Yep, this was some time ago and most of the powders on the market were yet to be formulated, but IMHO the information is still valid. Ive read that but not found any of the signs that some people claim to be encountering, like strap cutting.

To get 1400 fps, I would need a 6" or longer barrel. No overpressure signs whatsoever on any cases.. 357 with the energy of a 44 magnum. Yes, I have a powder measure, but have rarely used it. Someone said it 38 Special is a very forgiving caliber for the handloader. I'm looking to start reloading 357 magnum as well, and was wondering if anyone knows of a good powder that can produce a decent target load in all three. I'm just planning on punching holes in paper with wadcutters, but I'd like to be as accurate as possible. I suggest one of these as an alternative to Lil'Gun if you have any concerns about it. 5 grains of Bullseye for target loads but am wanting to get higher velocity for 158 grain SWCHP.. Bullseye, Unique, Power Pistol and Blue Dot are the pistol powders I have. Alliant American Select.
