Steering Wheel Buttons Not Working
Phone answer and hang up button, talk button and cruise control buttons and none work, is there a fuse for that? I changed my clock spring. Writer for Hackster News. Joycelyn R. Johnson. If you break the cover ring, then its part number is: 4E0419689 for 4 spokes SW, and 4E0419689A for 3 spokes SW. So, odds are, you will need to change out the small module inside the steering wheel to restore what you are after. If they aren't shorted when you press that button, then you are doing something wrong. I may have a faulty buttons but I though I ask if there was something I'm missing. I don't know of any airbag cars that don't have them for the steering wheel. All connectors connected. My 05 tsx has 2 sets of buttons on the steering wheel: on left is audio controls; on right is speed controls. Theres a video on youtube that shows how to replace the clock spring -->. CTM is the (Central Timing Module) located behind the drivers side kick panel (panel between the door and the dash by the floor to keeps you from kicking it and making the interior flow design. Pay attention that this is not easy to remove as it's well fixed, and pulling it harder than it should may break it easily. Sorry, too new, haven't seen or read about that issue before. I just want to know if I need a new unit before I pull the steering wheel apart to check the connections. There are little chances that both buttons are defective. It may be this is related to the voice button not working also. I will look for and replace the pack that you mentioned and see if that helps. Now having fitted the new buttons they obviously don't work!... I can wheel up and down to different selections, but certainly cannot select anything. Thanks for any help. Also look for the emissions label on the hood, or paint overspray on the windshield moldings. If you're interested in doing it yourself, i'll tell you what to do. Luckily, like many nice stereo receivers, the Kenwood has a 3. I do no work on my own car... The only other potential is that you have a broken wire between the module and the switch assembly. So... how difficult is it to replace that board. I think that what they call '4 spokes' is actually for trapezoidal airbags, and '3 spokes' is actually for rounded airbags, but I may be wrong. Next I am contemplating removing the air bag and using voltmeter to make sure switch is good.
Hi, You need to take the new button pack back out and swap the board from the old one into the new one, then all will be good. 5mm input jack for remote control. I take air bags off at times without disconnecting anything (the above wasn't me). Do these things go out often? Better safe than beat to hell by an airbag...
