The second wave completely destroys the levee and faultline system of the world, resulting in massive coastal flooding and the destruction of all islands in the blink of an eye. Good concept, but bad delivery. With three dead and one on the run, the race to find the elusive Number Four begins. 15 Best Movies Like The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. 5th Wave may have these things but it feels like a sci-fi survival film first and foremost. Plot: survival, female protagonist, death, distopia, game of death, contests and competitions, youth, rivalry, future dystopia, killings, young heroes, game... 82%. He is surprised o see that it is where he was bought to the military headquarters on the first day.

A movie interesant and makes what the people can dream and think most. Between the horrible acting, ridiculous romance, and half thought through story, the 5th Wave is the bottom of the barrel of these young adult films. Movies I want to watch.
It wastes a decent set up and beginning, as well as an effective subplot involving the army (which in some ways gives off a Full Metal Jacket with kids feeling). Audio book and movie suck. The only good things about this film are decent action scenes and a handful of good performances and that is what saved this film from being a disaster. I don't know what the critics saw, but it sure wasn't the 5th wave. Watch this film, you will come out likeing this film regrardless what critics says.

They battle violent scavengers and other evils as they travel down "the road. " The downtime in the middle of the film only makes the bookended scenes of peril and devastation all that more affecting. There's some dark cinematography in this John Hillcoat and Joe Penhall film, which masterfully conjures a feeling of desolation and hopelessness. If you enjoyed other Hunger Games-esque movies like Maze Runner then this should still prove worth a watch. Avoid at all costs Collapse … Expand. The movie even starts off with a bang, setting up a bleak look at the fall of humanity through a teenager's eyes. The action scenes in it where fantastic, I LOVED Chloe's Performance aswell as Alex's, although it does have a dodgy love triangle it was still a fantastic movie!
The 5th wave delivers in a fast paced, gripping thriller. Why is everyone saying that this movie is for 15 and up its honestly not that bad I watched this when I was 10. It's a sci-fi horror movie taking place on a planet. What set this film apart is that it has twist and truns.

Chloe Moretz is awful here. I really enjoyed the setting in this movie. "The 5th Wave" has one of the most energetic and exciting opening sequences I've seen in quite sometime. The I was amazed how much this film was actually good. Final verdict: Not recommended, unless you're a child or you like this kind of **** adaptations. The 5th Wave is a doomsday film, or as we'll refer to it in the year 2020, reality television. It was relatively well paced, but the action was mediocre and the teen drama dragged it down. Perhaps only change I read the book and I have to say the film really does hold true to it (for the most part), could almost say "exactly how I imagined it".
Then the movie goes full Twilight. Sort by: February 9, 2023. Go see this movie, you won't regret it. They were going for Buffy and Angel and ended up with Xander and a Praying Mantis. It also and its a film I would love to watch again and Chloe Grace Moretz plays a great charter. I'm sure they were only snuggling. Story: With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow in the final showdown. Plot: zombie, apocalypse, virus, epidemic, deadly virus, zombie apocalypse, post apocalypse, survival, end of the world, pandemic, chaos, vaccine... Time: future, 21st century, 2000s, year 1973. If i was skeptical then found myself acutally enjoying it, so will you. Place: usa, paris france, washington d. c., atlantic ocean, africa... 401K. From the first scene, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. How on earth do movies like this get made??? In a post-apocalyptic world where humans are grouped into orderly, harmonious units, it takes an outsider to realize that all is not as it seems. It's heart is fighting for humanty when everything is lost.

Then it goes from bad to worse. They took an awesome post-apocalyptic survival story and turned it into a teen movie. As I said I didn't really care for the story, it's been done, and the whole Hunger Games love angel just seemed to be a lazy rip off. As you can tell, audiences enjoyed this film because it is really good and entertaining.
The leading man looks a healthy 25. Story: When strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, people are drawn outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth. I am a fan of alien movies but good ones can be hard to come by, at times. In a world devoid of color or emotion, it is up to 16-year-old Jonas to carry the burden of memory and restore everything that makes us human. The entire thing was very "Meh" for me. Take a chace like I did. But I punched myself in the head until I could accept that and kept watching. Not in love or with personal issues. Un-surprisingly A kid's movie disguised as an adult's one, Stop appreciating this piece of **** for its (mediocre) actress, the movie is absolutley terrible, teen-drama crap that you'd expect from a worthless book and its painful adaptation. Natalie Portman's iconic turn as Evey in V for Vendetta no doubt inspired this new wave of female heroines tackling tyrants. People are more simple, when they are scared then they are scared (obvious, no?
