Festivals are aplenty in Maplewood. Well-behaved doggos on leashes are allowed. This free festival is the only one of its kind to take place on national park grounds. " Other highlights include an appearance by the St. Louis Hoop Club, chalk drawing demonstrations, selfie experiences throughout the event site. Buttressed by Schlafly Bottleworks on one end and Side Project Brewing at the other, the quarter-mile stretch of Manchester Road, and relegated side streets, is home to over 200 businesses, restaurants, breweries and boutiques, more than 25 of them that produce and sell their own products on site — everything from culinary knives, colorfully welded iron and steel bottle openers, artisanal leather handbags and wallets, beer, soaps, Strange Donuts and more. This popular end-of-summer celebration pays tribute to St. Louis' storied blues history and showcases the talents of national and local artists. At least until the last hour or so, a family atmosphere is well maintained, despite the sale of alcohol on the street. The design created became the logo for the event, which treated it more as a branding assignment than an art poster. Oh, and did I mention free nibbles inside many busineses, an effort to energize the windows of offices and stores whose windows usually aren't inspiring, and food and drink for purchase from sidewalk carts operated by the business behind them?
