It's not necessarily bad to drive a car with the MAF unplugged, but it's not ideal either. Bear in mind the car started and idled fine as I drove it into my shop to begin repairs. The basic purpose of the mass airflow sensor is to measure the amount of air that is going into the engine so your car can release the proper amount of gas into the engine, so the car is able to run correctly. Please don't think I already now about issues which may be common to BMW.. Check rubber and plastic vacuum hoses. As far as vacuum leaks and the sensor Airbag sensor, as soon as the Amazon delivers my stuff I will check.
